Pre-Conference Workshop: Net Positive Sustainability: Handprints bigger than our Footprints (4 CEUs)

Greg Norris

October 2, 2017, 9AM-Noon at the Sheraton Harborside Hotel, Portsmouth, NH

Workshop Description: Handprints are instrumental in the pursuit of Net Positive: giving more than we take, as individuals, organizations, or collectives. Individuals and organizations are finding that Net Positive is an empowering, inspiring perspective on sustainability. The Net Positive movement is starting to launch; it will engage and need the engagement of a global network of talented, creative people who understand LCA. It might also help to spread LC awareness and thinking to a very wide group of people and organizations.

This workshop will delve in depth into Net Positive methodology. What are the optional footprint scope and metrics used in Net Positive goal-setting and assessment. What are the various candidates for assessing positive impacts (Handprints) and what are their strengths and weaknesses? How can an organization pursue Positive, and how achievable is it? What impact categories are relevant, how is the dimension of time addressed, who gets credit, how are the methods being advanced, which organizations are involved so far, and why?
